Straight from the Eighth Circuit
Court of Appeals site and right from
the Eighth Circuit Opinion Database, we found a quick way to sort through Eighth Circuit
case law to find cases from the District of Minnesota. How We Did It (and You Can
Too): We searched the Eighth Circuit's database for the key word
"Minnesota." Out came a list of cases appealed from the District of Minnesota sorted chronologically, with summaries and links to the full text opinions.
You can quickly produce a chronologically sorted list of about eight hundred cases using the search form at the bottom of this page.
Here's a sampler of the form of search results you will receive using our search form below:
953756U.pdf 08/12/96 Ming Shan Lin v. INS

983843P.pdf 11/26/99 Ali Abdullah Sabhari v. Janet Reno, et al.
U.S. Court of Appeals
Case No. 98-3843
District of Minnesota
Civil case - Immigration law. District court erred in finding it did not have jurisdiction under the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act to decide legal challenge to order denying plaintiff's petition to adjust his immigration status; however, the BIA decision was supported by substantial evidence of immigration fraud, and the order should be affirmed.
Use the form below, adding any additional terms you're interested in or removing the "Minnesota" element if you wish.
Example: adding the words civil rights after Minnesota will return only the 100 + cases in the database having these key words in the database. Try it with the words insurance, product, etc. You'll see it can quickly get you started on your research.
According to the Eighth Circuit's site, Eighth Circuit decisions issued prior to October
30, 1995 are not published on the Web. As of February 1, 1999, opinions were posted in .pdf format, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
